Mini-Packing Event Prepares Over 4,000 Meals

Community leaders, students, business owners, and even a visitor from out of state came to find out more about how Numana, Inc. saves the starving by preparing and packaging healthy food to send to Haiti.  Cowley county is preparing for an event on November 20 when they will pack over 260,000 meals to send to the earthquake-devastated country.  The cost is only 30 cents per meal.  A dollar and a little bit of time spent preparing the meals feeds three people.  Everyone can lend a helping hand.

Cowley County Saves the Starving

November 20, 2010 brings an opportunity for Cowley Country to directly help save the starving of Haiti.  An event has been planned for Saturday, November 20 to package over a quarter of a million meals for people in Haiti, as they continue to recover from the tragic earthquake from last January. We will also be conducting a local food drive in conjunction with this event, and participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the packaging event on November 20.
